Chester is a beautiful and small city with lots to offer. Traveling in and around Chester by bus is a great and sustainable option.
Warrington to Chester
To commute to Chester from Warrington by bus, take the X30 Arriva Bus from Warrington Bus Interchange. This journey typically takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Liverpool to Chester
If you're commuting from Liverpool to Chester by bus, Stagecoach's Service 1 and X1 offer a convenient and affordable option. These services run frequently throughout the day, with buses departing every 15 minutes from Liverpool ONE Bus Station and arriving at Chester Bus Interchange. Manchester to Chester
If you're planning to travel from Manchester to Chester by bus, there are several options available to suit different preferences and budgets:

National Express operates coach services between Manchester and Chester, departing from Manchester Chorlton Street Coach Station and arriving at Chester Bus Interchange. Fares start from approximately £11, and the journey takes around 2 hours and 25 minutes. It's advisable to book in advance to secure the best prices.

Transport for Wales (Rail Replacement Buses)
While primarily a train operator, Transport for Wales occasionally provides bus services between Manchester and Chester, typically taking around 2 hours and 8 minutes. Fares start at approximately £17.
Stagecoach and Local Buses

Wrexham to Chester

Please note: Some routes may take up to two hours, depending on distance and connections. It’s important to plan your journey in advance and allow plenty of time to arrive on campus for your university timetabled sessions.

Chester City has a great range of taxi services that will take you in and around Chester.
You can book a taxi with KingKabs online. KingKabs provides airport transfers to and from Manchester airport and Liverpool airport.
KingKabs online booking requires you to have a mobile phone number to book. Please ensure that you have your own UK phone number before entering the UK.

If you hold a driving licence issued outside of Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales), you may not automatically be able to drive whilst in the UK.
You can use this tool on the UK Government website to check whether your driving licence is valid to drive in the UK.
You should also check that you meet all of the legal requirements that apply to both the driver and the vehicle, and that you are aware of the correct procedures, which may be different from your home country.
