Support from Staff and Students
My time studying Marketing Management at Chester is something I look back on with a real sense of pride and gratitude. What stands out most is the supportive atmosphere – both from lecturers and fellow students – which made it easy to grow in confidence and push myself academically. I especially loved how my course balanced theory with practical application, giving me a clear sense of how my learning connected to the real world.
Exploring My Passion
One of the most impactful experiences was working on my dissertation that allowed me to explore an area I was genuinely passionate about. It challenged me to think independently, manage my time effectively, and develop skills I still use today. I also valued opportunities to collaborate with others, as they helped me build strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Discovering My Strengths and Overcoming Fear of Failure
A favourite memory has to be the sense of achievement after submitting major assignments, celebrating with friends who had been on the same journey. Overall, my time at Chester played a huge role in shaping who I am today – it helped me discover my strengths, overcome fear of failure, refine my interests, and feel more certain about my future path.
The photo at the top of this blog was taken on graduation day, capturing a unique, once-in-a-lifetime milestone. It marks the exact moment where all my hard work, challenges, and achievements come together – it's the transition from student life into the next chapter.
Post-graduation: Continuing to Grow
Since graduating from Chester, my journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Starting my career felt like a big step, but the skills and confidence I developed during my studies helped me adapt quickly to the professional world. One of the things I'm most proud of is how I've continued to grow – taking on new responsibilities, learning from experience, and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone.
What I enjoy most about my work now is the sense of purpose it gives me. Knowing that what I do has a positive impact – whether that's supporting individuals, contributing to a team, or helping a wider community – makes it all feel worthwhile. It's motivating to see the real-world outcomes of the effort I put in each day.
My Advice for Students
For current and future students, my advice would be to make the most of every opportunity – get involved, ask questions, and don't be afraid to try new things. Being a Chester graduate means being part of a supportive and resilient community, and carrying forward the confidence and determination to keep growing long after university.
